How natural swimming pools UK work

They can be built to nearly any design. There is one fundamental format that must remain the same!  The pool is divided into two sections. The swimming area and the natural filtration area (also known as the regeneration zone).  Specially selected plants are planted into the filtration area at different levels/zones to create the perfect balance of plants to water ratio. The swimming area is the deeper area which is separated from the planting area.

The flexibility of it, is one of its main attractions. There is not one specific design, it can be in many different forms and can be built to your own designs.

 

Bespoke designs 

All of Aquajoy’s range of  pools are built to your own specifications from bespoke designs. Our natural swimming pool estimator and our designer will conduct a site visit to discuss your requirements. They will create a design based around what you have envisioned.

Environmentally

Natural swimming pools are ecologically sound and are chemical free.  They promote healthy living and family fun.  The regeneration zone uses plants as a living biological filter which in some cases is assisted by additional filtration.  The careful selection of plants is essential for the pool to gain a correct balance which helps provide water clarity and quality.

 

 

History

Although not a completely new idea as we have been swimming in lakes and large ponds for centuries. This idea has been reinvented in the last 30 years. Beginning in Europe with natural swimming pools being traced to the early eighties.

The idea is becoming more and more popular in the UK. The idea has seen a real increase since it was first featured at the 2001 Hampton court flower show. They are a clean enjoyable experience that feels natural.
